Compose your stay to 1 or more destinations:
Ostie
The seaside resort of Ostia (or Lido di Ostia) spreads its vast sandy beaches just 30km from Rome and is very easy to get to. It’s not the prettiest of beaches, but it’s one of the most popular!
To do: nearby, you can also discover the archaeological site of Ostia Antica.

Fregene, Maccarese and Cerveteri
Nearby, the beaches of Fregene, Maccarese and Cerveteri also offer beautiful beaches, equipped with lidos (Italian bathing establishments) to enjoy lunch or an aperitif and all the services (deckchairs, parasols, changing rooms…). If you want to extend your beach day into the evening or night, this is the place to be, with its young, festive atmosphere!
What to do: set sail on a small sailing boat!

Santa Severa and Santa Marinella
Quieter than the previous beaches (but still quite busy), Santa Severa beach is bordered by a castle, giving it a special charm and allowing you to combine culture and sunbathing.
Santa Marinella is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the region, and is very popular in July and August.
Things to do: the two beaches of Santa Marinella and Santa Severa are popular with windsurfers and surfers.

Anzio and Nettuno
To the south of the Italian capital are two beaches that nature lovers love: Anzio and Nettuno because they offer a wilder setting than the former.
Together with Nettuno, Anzio is now a seaside resort with a marina and access to the island of Ponza.
And don’t forget: the beach at Anzio has been awarded the Blue Flag, an environmental label guaranteeing the quality of the area!
What to do: organise a seafood lunch by the sea!

If you’re looking for a little peace and quiet, Sabaudia is for you. The spacious coastline stretches between the sea and a long lake, all dominated by Mount Circea, where according to Homer, Ulysses and his crew met the famous witch!
Things to do: start your day with a hike to the top of the mountain before sunbathing on the beach.

A little further south, towards Naples, Gaeta is a medieval town with clear waters.
The town offers 7 magnificent beaches, including Serapo, a sandy beach close to the town centre, and Fontania, a small beach to the north-west, accessible on foot or by swimming.
Between swims, you can wander through the narrow streets of the town and admire the remains of a magnificent Roman villa dating from the 1st century AD.
To do: arrange a visit with one of our guides to the Montagna Spaccata (Broken Mountain), a superb cove.

Ponza
For a longer getaway away from the masses of the Roman coastline, take a boat to the island of Ponza! Its incredible beauty, small harbour and numerous coves make these fishing islands a popular destination. The island of just 8 km2 is lined with rocky and sandy beaches, natural arches and, above all, crystal-clear seas.
In the south-east of the island, the village of the same name forms an amphitheatre of houses with brightly-coloured facades, enclosing a small fishing port.
What to do: take a boat trip around the island to explore the hidden coves.
